TTRPG & game writing
I love playing TTRPGs (tabletop roleplaying games), and I love creating content for them even more. Whether it’s coming up with lore, adventures, magic items or roll tables, as a TTRPG writer I enjoy digging into fictional worlds and testing the limits of what’s possible. I have written content for various systems and I’m always open learning new systems in order to get the job done. My rate for TTRPG writing depends heavily on the type of work needed. If you want to get an estimate of what it would cost to hire me as a TTRPG or game writer, feel free to contact me and tell me about your project.
Note: I have lower rates for solo and marginalised creators (mainly those who are BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and/or neurodivergent/disabled). Please let me know in your request if this applies to you.

I highly recommend their services for both creative and technical writing!” – Grant Mielke, CEO QuasiReal Publishing
Published projects

Lament of Innocence (2025/206)
For the fully digital TTRPG anthology “Start the Fire” (by QuasiReal Publishing) I wrote the GM-less game “What Little Kindness”, where one player takes the role of a fallen celestial and the other player that of a young girl. Together, they talk about what brought on the downfall of mortals and why the gods did not intervene. A talk about mortality and divinity, hope and loss, but most importantly, a talk about that which will save them: empathy.
It comes with a short story called “Lament of Innocence”, which serves as a guide for the setting. You can read more about and buy this game here.
Undead Paradise (2026)
For Akiva Vallins’s TTRPG Undead Paradise I wrote a quickstart adventure to get new players and GMs into the setting. In Undead Paradise the humans are all gone and the zombies have regained their free will. They are now faced with a mutated world that’s all theirs to explore and navigate. You can read more about and buy the game here.
Bria’s Mythical Menagerie (2024)
For QuasiReal Publishing (in collaboration with Cuddle Core) I got to work on Bria’s Mythical Menagerie, a 5e creature collecting compendium. I wrote detailed lore on several familiars and creatures, including statblocka. I also wrote a major NPC, several spells and various magic items. You can read more about it here.
Veil of the Eternal Night (2024)
For QuasiReal Publishing I wrote NPCs, locations, monsters, magic items, subclasses, backgrounds and other bits and pieces for their supplement Harker’s Guide to Vampire Hunting, part of Veil of the Eternal Night (VotEN), a grimdark fantasy adventure. In addition I wrote NPCs, monsters and other lore for the Soliloquy of Annihilation and Daughter of the Shadows campaigns that are also part of VotEN. The writing had to be done for both D&D 5e and the Mythcraft system. You can find more about the book here.
“Anna is a joy to work with. They are highly communicative and kept every deadline that we set. Anna’s creativity shines in their ability to breathe life and nuance into scores of characters and locations. They were also highly receptive to constructive criticism and did an excellent job of incorporating feedback into revisions. I would highly recommend working with them!” – Nathan Heard, Lead Game Designer, QuasiReal Publishing
Cohors Cthulhu (2023)
For Modiphius I got to write a short adventure for their game Cohors Cthulhu, which is a Lovecraft-inspired game set in the Roman Empire. The game uses their 2d20 system, which required me to learn and then implement a system that was previously foreign to me. My adventure, called “The Harvest”, takes place around Ulpia Noviomagus Batavorum, in what is now the Dutch city of Nijmegen. The adventure is featured in the Germania supplement book, which you can read more about and buy here.
Deep & Dangerous (2023)
I was hired by Andrew Bishkinskyi to work on Deep & Dangerous, a D&D 5e supplement with an underground theme. For this project I wrote lore and information for a mining location, as well as several magic items. It’s available on DriveThruRPG.
“Anna was a pleasure to work with. They quickly understood the project requirements, communicated throughout, and delivered on time and on spec!” – Andrew Bishkinskyi, Sword Compass Creations
Sidequest issue May 2023
Sidequest is a monthly RPG magazine from Icarus Games. For their May issue I wrote a magic drinks d20 table. Every drink on that table has its own unique properties, as well as special effects, ranging from bad to annoying to good. It’s available through DriveThruRPG.
Apocalypse: The Complete Game Master’s Guide to Ending the World (2023)
For Indie Games Cooperative I wrote a system-agnostic apocalypse scenario. In this scenario a malicious being infects the dreams of innocents, turning them into violent people when they wake up. Apocalypse is available through DriveThruRpg.
Guildhall Studios (2022)
For Guildhall Studios I worked on their board game “Sea of Legends”. I wrote dozens of short narratives (called episodes) in a “choose your own adventure” style for their game/app.
“Anna was fast, efficient, reliable, and great to work with! They finished assignments on time, were prompt at making changes, and weren’t afraid to ask questions. I would happily work with them again!” – Hannah Wilder, Editorial Director at Guildhall Studios
Incredible Items (2022)
For the Indie Games Cooperative, I worked on my first-ever TTRPG project: writing D&D 5e magic items for a book called Incredible Items. I created 11 items and one “evolving artefact”, which is a magic item consisting of four stages.
“It was a delight to work with Anna on Incredible Items. Their imagination and enthusiasm is top notch as well as their willingness to take direction and suggestions on how to improve as a writer and designer.” – Alan Tucker, founder of Indie Games Cooperation
