Fiction writing

As a fiction writer I specialise in fantasy, sci-fi and horror stories, but I also like to do other genres from time to time. Writing short stories is what I’m most familiar with, but I’ve also written short 15-second video sketches and social media posts for fictional characters, as well as character backgrounds, world lore, and dialogues/narratives for games. I don’t have a set rate for fiction projects because every project is different. If you want to know what I would charge for your project, you can contact me and tell me about it.

Blogs & articles

On occasion I write blogs and articles about various topics, though most commonly I’ve written about my experiences as an autistic person. If you’re looking to hire someone to write about neurodivergency or other topics you feel might suit me, feel free to contact me! I’m also available to write reviews about tv series, films and comics. My rates for these vary, depending on how much research is needed to write the article.

Other work

I like to dabble in many different things, and one of those things is art. I’m not an artist in the way that people expect artists nowadays to be: I’m not an illustrator. I don’t know how to draw very well. But I do know how to paint (mainly sunset landscapes), and I like combining poetry with hand-cut collages. I’m still working on expanding this part of my creativity and taking it more seriously.

Past work

AKA Virtual

I’ve been working with AKA Virtual since April of 2021. AKA Virtual is a Vtuber agency. Vtubers are virtual avatars that are operated by real-life voice actors through motion capture and are often used for streaming. But while the people behind it are real, the characters are often completely fictional. As a writer, I’m helping AKA Virtual with content and (video) scripts for not just these characters, but also AKA’s clients, which include Sega, Vshojo and Moomin.

The Winnow

For the dual theme issue of The Winnow, called “home/liminal spaces”, I created a collage called “prettythings”. It’s inspired by a character from a story I wrote. You can read the issue of The Winnow here, and my work is on page 12.

Aphotic Realm

For Aphotic Realm I wrote a short horror story called “Home is where the hive is”. This follows a young nurse named Pascal as he takes on a most curious new client with a rather worrying connection to bees. The Spring issue can be bought here.

The Ability Toolbox

As part of Autism Acceptance Month, I wrote two articles for the Ability Toolbox: Understanding Your Autistic Loved One: 6 Autistic Behaviors and How to Accommodate Them & All About Autism Masking and Camouflaging

My hand-cut collage called "prettythings". It shows a bunch of fancy furniture with in the background a very cold and empty looking room. The text on the image reads "We filled our house with pretty things so no one would notice the cold."

Enna

Enna (previously Stack Recruitment) is a company that helps autistic and other neurodivergent people find a job. They asked me to write several guest blogs for them:

Should You Disclose Autism in an Interview?

How Do Autistic Adults Communicate Their Needs Within a Job?

Six Autism Stereotypes Debunked

Geek’d Out

Geek’d out is a platform where geeks review and talk about things that excite other geeks. I wrote articles for them for about a year and did so with great pleasure! Here you can read all my articles.

Yopp

As stated on their website, Yopp is “a resource-hub dedicated to consolidating the do’s and don’ts of social justice into clear, overarching principles. Led by marginalized voices.”

For Yopp I wrote a guest blog titled Hanging Out with Your Autistic Friend: A Guide to Social Inclusivity”

Para/normal audio dramas

For Law of Names media, I wrote two horror/comedy audio drama skits as part of their Para/normal series. The first skit, named “The Hole” is about a strange hole in the wall of the protagonist’s apartment that the landlord doesn’t feel like fixing. The second one, “We need to talk about Stephen”, is about a group of flatmates who have some out-of-the-ordinary issues with one of their other flatmates. Both skits are combined into one episode and can be listened to here.

Homemade Acrylic

In 2023 I self-published my poetry chapbook “Homemade Acrylic” through a successful Kickstarter campaign. It’s 30 pages and contains poetry and hand-cut collages. It’s available for sale on my Ko-Fi page, both as a digital and physical version.

Cover for Homemade Acrylic. It's a blue background with a cut-out of a person with their arms crossed over their chest. Their face is made anonymous with black paint and red lines are painted over their arms and face, with a small paint brush being in the corner. Cut out letters in different colours and fonts say the title of the book and my name
